Bahamian junior athlete Anthonique Strachan has informed MileSplit Bahamas she will fore-go running in college and head straight to the professional ranks. Strachan has signed a contract with the shoe company Puma. Details of the contract have not been disclosed.

Grand Bahamian Demetrius Pinder drew world attention to his track exploits over 400 meters (m) just two years ago. He surprised track observers by defeating Chris Brown to capture the 400 meters national title.
