Summary

From BAAA Facebook:

"BAISS Track & Field Championships Wrap Up: It was an exciting finish to the conclusion of the 2012 BAISS Track and Field Championships today. After the final results were released, SAC was declared the winner with 1,307.50 points with the QC Comets falling short of their first championship by just 48 points posting an overall total of 1,259.50 points. These championships were by far the most competitive ever showing the depth of the QC Comets athletic program that matches SAC in practically all categories unlike previous years. Out of the ten divisions, QC Comets won 5 to SAC 3. Aquinas Aces and St. John's College Giants each won one division. The Comets also dominated the relays winning eight (8) while SAC was close behind winning six (6). QC set five (5) new relay records followed by SAC with four (4). A number of individual records were broken and several athletes qualified for the Carifta Games. The most outstanding performance of the competition came from phenom sensation SAC Senior Shaunae Miller who ran a blistering race in the 200 meters in a time of 22.70 seconds surpassing her previous Olympic "A" qualifying standard ran at the Star Trackers Classic (22.95) seconds. That incredible performance would place her unofficially at the top of the IAAF world junior 2012 outdoor rankings. We will post the other qualifiers in the next status report. Congratulations to all the athletes for a great show of athleticism over the past three days."
