Star Trackers Classic Scheduled for February 1



Baker Concrete/Greyco Ltd. Star Performers Track Classic 2014


Nassau, Bahamas, 20th January, 2014:  Star Trackers Track & Field Club will be hosting the Baker Concrete/Greyco Ltd. 11th “Star Performers Track Classic 2014”, on Saturday, February 1st.  The meet will take place at the Thomas A. Robinson Track & Field Stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Sports Center.  The meet will run from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. This year general admission is $5.00, children under 10 years is $3.00 and V.I.P seats will be $20.00.  


This track meet is for divisions under eight (U8) to Masters.  It is sanctioned by the Bahamas Association of Athletic Associations (B.A.A.A.) and International Amateur Athletic Federation (I.A.A.F.) rules apply.


Competing this year are athletes from Canada, Barbados, Turks & Caicos and Jamaica along with our Bahamian athletes from Andros, Grand Bahama, Harbour Island, Moores Island and New Providence will also be competing. There will even be a special appearance from The Bahamas Special Olympic Athletes.


The Star Trackers is proud to have Baker Concrete, International Division and Greyco Ltd. as the title sponsor again this year.  


Star Trackers Track & Field Club is a non-profit club, officially started in 2001, and has over 50 primary and high school athletes registered for this season.  David Charlton, well known former National Team Member and Carifta stand-out, is the head coach.  He is assisted by Coaches Rudolph Ferguson and Luther Rolle.  


The Star Trackers are proud to state that in their short history, over 40 of their student athletes have received athletic scholarships to colleges or universities in the United States.  Eighty percent of the club’s current athletes hold a 3.0 or higher grade point average (GPA).
