Taytum Goodman is weeks away from going to her final UIL Class 1A Track and Field Cross Country State Championships.

In the fall, she finalized her UIL cross country career by winning her fourth state title and the end in track is approaching. She can cap one of the most amazing all-time UIL careers with one more track meet that would seem phenomenal in terms of accomplishments, but in essence it would just be another run-of-the-mill day for her.

With the amount of track and cross country state meet qualifications she has racked up, the Springlake Earth senior has spent nearly as much time in Austin as a lifetime Austinite and is as familiar with Mike A. Myers Stadium as the University of Texas Facilities Manager.

In addition to Goodman's four cross country state titles, she has won three state championships in each of the 800m and 1,600m events. Last season, she competed in the 3,200m at the state meet for the first time and she won that championship as well.

Supplementary to the state championships, Goodman has cemented herself in history in other ways.

All-time level athletes leave their marks with stats and records.

The UIL state meet record books reflect the impact of the Texas Tech signee. Last season, Goodman broke her own state meet records in the 800m and 1,600m by running 2:16.29 and 5:04.92. In her first 3,200m run at the state meet she also set the record with a 10:56.53 winning time.

Her folklore and legendary status is anything but myth. Her legacy is further cemented by her dominance at the district and area performances as well as her regional titles.

Goodman has won 11 state championships with a potential to add three more in 2024; She has also captured 14 Region 1-1A championships.
